I installed the IPN mod and ran the test which worked out just fine.

So my next question is what should the pay link be? Currently I am using the paypal button link with the return url's in them. Should those be used? The doc for the mod does not give any clues on this.

The PayPal site should give info on how to use IPN. The module just follows their guidelines. AFAIK, if you setup your PayPal account to use IPN, then every payment made via PayPal will be returned to that URL, regardless of any other URL you may specify in a PayLink.

Help will be given to install/configure/use phpCOIN, but not programming help to modify phpCOIN operations. If you are competent enough to make programming changes, you should be competent enough to read the source code and figure things out :)

If you are trying to integrate posted sample code into your website, please take into account any changes in phpCOIN made after the code sample was posted. It is discouraging to spend hours answering questions or trying to track down an issue only to find that the user has a version of phpCOIN that makes the sample irrelevant

That's fine -- its a business account anyways. I'll read up about the IPN then, must have missed the part about the return url in paylinks.

Ok so let me get this straight. After I activate IPN and put in the URL to the IPN addon for phpcoin I then need to edit the "Auto Return for Website Payments" in my PP profile?

My PP IPN url is
CODE
Instant Payment Notification (IPN) URL:     https://www.domain-name.net/store/coin_modules/ipn/vendors/paypal/paypal.php

As you can see I am totally confused and PayPal doesn't have a IPN how-to as far as I can tell.

I have
CODE
<input type="hidden" name="return" value="<return_link_buy>">
<input type="hidden" name="cancel_return" value="<return_link_cancel>">

Will you just tell me if I need any of those and which one and what else I need to change or check in my PP profile?

Step 11 specifically, of the manual section on IPN has a step-by-step -> http://docs.phpcoin.com/index.php/IPN_Module

Regular PayPal does need a return URL specified in the paylink for success and for fail.

IPN will ignore whatever you pass in the paylink and will instead use whatever URL you specified on PayPal site for both success and fail return.

I would leave the two return URLs in the Paylink.
Yes, IPN will totally ignore them, but if down the road you stop using IPN you would not need to reconfigure your paylinks.
